You can cycle up steep hills to Kitzeck, Europe's highest wine-growing village, or if your prefer to ride on the flat along rivers covered by shady forests, or slightly hilly stages towards the South Styrian Wine Trail, the Sausal Wine Trail or along the Schilcher Wine Trail. Southern Styria not only offers the ideal backdrop, but also more than enough options to challenge and enchant enthusiastic cyclists, regardless on their physical condition.

    For athletes, families and hobby cyclists - southern Styria offers cycling tours that everyone will love. Well-signposted, well-maintained and with little traffic, the cycle paths are perfect for your next short holiday. There are 200 to 2,000 metres of altitude to conquer from Lannach to the Koralm at a distance of 864 km, where you can stick to the routes, until the cycle paths lead you to one of the numerous wine taverns.

    If you like to pedal, you've come to the right place. A digitally recorded route network with more than 1,100 km to discover, as well as numerous signposted tours make every cyclist's heart beat faster.

    And when cycling through Southern Styria, you don't even have to push yourself to the limit. Numerous stations offer e-bikes for hire to make cycling even more enjoyable. It's not just abour recharging your e-bike after all.

    Southern Styria as a cycling destination is also part of the eventful and impressive Weinland Steiermark cycle tour, which enjoyably connects the east and south of Styria on eight stages over 403 km, with Graz as its centre. The Murradweg, well-known and extremely popular among cyclists, also leads from Graz via Wildon to Leibnitz and on to Bad Radkersburg, and promises biking enthusiasts a varied tour. This confirms once again that there is no way around beautiful southern Styria, especially not by bike.

    And on we go for a well-deserved holiday, but this time the car stays put. Not only good for the environment, but also for your own body and mind. A true relaxation tour when it's only two wheels and your own muscle power. The long-distance cycle routes in particular make getting there by bike very exciting.
    The long-distance cycle route EuroVelo 9, part of the European cycle network, connects the Polish Baltic Sea coast with the Croatian Adriatic Sea at a distanct of 1,930 kilometres - and also takes you through southern Styria. The River Mur Cycle Trail, or also the Styrian Wine Country Cycle Trail show you the varied landscape of southern Styria.

    Cycle by Train

    Travel comfortably to your well-deserved holiday with the train and your bike. Trying out the cycling and mountain biking routes on your own beloved bike is that bit more special.
