Your Gesäuse in the heart of Styria

Biking

Whether high up or rather leisurely along a river. In the sector of cycling, the Gesäuse covers a lot that makes the biker's heart beat faster. You can cycle through two national parks and federal states on the TRANS NATIONALPARK, marvel at the mighty mountain scenery in the Gesäuse on the Buchsteinrunde, or leisurely follow the course of the river on the Ennsradweg. For those who also want to be spoiled with culinary delights, we recommend the Johnsbacher Almenrunde or a detour to the Grabneralm or Ardning Alm Hütte.

A complete Transnational Park round trip can be divided into six days. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace should explore the transnational park in the form of day tours. The routes are very well signposted, and on the Internet you can find providers who organize luggage transport and overnight accommodation.

Tour pure nature

Forests with primeval forest character, rare animal species, breathtaking views - all these special features are commonplace in both the Gesäuse National Park and the Kalkalpen National Park. On the Transnational Park, the bike route that connects these two natural jewels, you can hardly stop marveling. 500-year-old trees, golden eagles, lynx and iridescent alpine goats feel right at home here - the Transnational Park is a tour through an untouched world full of uniqueness.

Eat & sleep

They are rustic and outspoken, the Gesäuse inns.  And "regional" is not a code word in the Gesäuse, but a duty. In their backpacks they have a selection of Styrian classics to delight the palate. The traditional preparation awakens a thousand and one memories and, on balance, simply makes you blissful.

And restful sleep is possible in the Gesäuse anyway. Hotels, guesthouses, huts and campsites are scattered all over the Gesäuse. Everyone is sure to find a comfortable bed for the night. That's a promise!
